Aug 02, 2019· 735 dust collection problem. Opened up my 11 year old DW735 planer today as the height was getting hard to set and found it was full of chips. Cleaned it, closed it up then ran it and all seemed back to normal. Then I decided to recheck. It was loading with chips again so I was going to take it apart tomorrow to diagnose it.

May 14, 2020· Worked with a friend who has the DW735. He used a simple trash can lid separator from Woodcraft to catch the output of planer, without any other device connected. When chips blow out top, it needs emptied. :) sold several different dust collection hose accessories for that planer.

There, I got a new 13″ planer and attached a dust collection hose with a cyclone type plastic garbage bin top and a shopvac. The first time I used it I noticed a 1″ long spark arcing between the dust collection hose and the planer table. Promptly turned it off and installed a grounding wire.

In that configuration the planer sends the chips into the box and the dust collector sucks them out on to the cyclone separator where they get dumped into a drum. When working stand alone the box on the stand has flapstyle vents in the top that will open to relieve pressure from the DW735''s chip ejector.
